Diligent Prayer

Philippians 4:4-9 --

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice,  Let your reasonableness be known to everyone.  The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.  What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me - practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

My dear friend's birthday was yesterday, so a few of us girls went over to celebrate with ice cream sundays.  It was a sweet time - so good to hang out with some other women.  After everyone left, Anna, Molly, and I had a great conversation.  It really just turned out to be them asking me about what all is going on in my life, and me telling them all about it.  It was just so refreshing and great to talk about.  It really encouraged me to be praying for specific people in my life and things that are going on that the Lord really needs to be in control of to settle.  I went home around 2am in the spirit of prayer, and it was good.  After I prayed for a little while, I opened my bible with hopes to learn a little something more about prayer, or at least be reminded and encouraged by it.  I opened it up to Philippians 2-4 and looked around a bit, but soon just kept that place and turned to the index to find a good word to read on prayer.  The Lord is so funny.  He led me to Philippians 4. :)  It really encouraged me to be in constant prayer and be a diligent prayer.  Practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.  I wish I could be more specific with what all I am talking about, but hopefully the Lord will speak to you through my surface words to reveal the meaning behind what I am writing.

You guys are seriously amazing for reading my blog.
