It's been a good week.  Busy in the moment but restful overall - Is that possible?

I'm so very excited about this weekend.  I'm headed home tonight to see my darling love.

I'm hoping for some time in the field on Friday (meaning a literal field).
I grew up on a country road with basically every person in my extended family down the same street - we called it Webbville.  Anyway, my Grandmother neighbors the right side of the house I grew up in and on the other side of her, way back in the woods, is the house my Grandfather was born and raised in.  It's the most beautiful sight - left just like someone went to get groceries and never came back.  The bad news is, it's been forbidden to enter onto the property for several years.  See, some long lost cousin inherited the property and he happens to be one of the most greedy people I've heard about in life.  When Uncle T died and this cousin inherited the property, he immediately put it up for sale - for. one. million. dollars.  It's not worth that to anyone.  So needless to say, it's been sitting on that beautiful property for probably about ten years with no one to love and cherish it.  My sister and I visit it on occasion, but my dad doesn't like us to trespass since that cousin would call the cops if he found out.  It's really quite disappointing that such a dearly loved historic home has gone to waste.  Anyhow, the point of this story is to say that I need to go.  I'm hoping on Friday, Christopher and I will have time to go out there and trek through the woods to find it.  I want to take our engagement pictures out there if we're able.  Christopher has never seen it - what a joy it will be when he does. :)  But also probably depressing since we won't be able to live in it when we get married and for the rest of our lives.

Anyhow, I'll try to post pictures if we get to go! :)

Saturday, my dear friend Kelly is throwing Christopher and me a shower. :)  We are so excited!  It feels like a really big joint birthday party.  It also feels like it's going to be a giant family reunion considering many of my friends from high school, college, and my family will be there.  I'll let you know how that goes too :)

Also, I finished addressing the envelops last night!  Invitations should be coming soon :)

Yay for the weekend!

The Week's Meditation

"But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.  To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either.  Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.  And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

"If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you?  For even sinners love those who love them.  And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you?  For even sinners do the same.  And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you?  Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount.  But love your enemies, and do good, and lend expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

"Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give and it will be given to you.  Good measure, pressed down, Shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap.  For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.

He also told them a parable.  Can a blind man lead a blind man?  Will they not both fall into a pit?  A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.  Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?  How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye?  You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.

Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another.

And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

How amazing is this:

In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah, of the division of Abijah.  And he had a wife from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.  And they were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord.  But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and both were advanced in years.

Now while he was serving as priest before God when his division was on duty, according to the custom of the priesthood, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.  And the whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense.  And there appeared to him and angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.  And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him.  But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.  And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great before the Lord.  And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.  And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared."

And Zechariah said to the angel, "How shall I know this?  For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years."  And the angel answered him, "I am Gabriel.  I stand in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.  And behold, you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time."  And the people were waiting for Zechariah, and they were wondering at his delay in the temple.  And when he came out, he was unable to speak to them, and they realized that he had seen a vision in the temple.  And he kept making signs to them and remained mute.  And when his time of service was ended, he went to his home.

After these days his wife Elizabeth conceived, and for five months she kept herself hidden, saying, "Thus the Lord has done for me in the days when he looked on me, to take away my reproach among people."

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David.  And the virgin's name was Mary.  And he came to her and said, "Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!"  But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be.  And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.  He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.  And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end."

And Mary said to the Angel, "How will this be, since I am a virgin?"

And the angel answered her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy - the Son of God.  And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.  For nothing will be impossible with God."  And Mary said, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.

In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.  And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb.  And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.  And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord."

Weekend Fun with Adam + Alli

Spring break was great :) Much needed and much appreciated!

We got a lot done, but I'm coping with the fact that this enormous list will not end until the wedding is over.  Then I suppose another list will be in progress, but it shall be much more enjoyable when Christopher and I will be together. :)

This weekend, in particular, was splendid.  We spent the majority of it with our beloved photographers, Adam and Alli.  I highly recommend them to anyone who needs photographers, or even just some awesome friends!

Friday we met the dear couple at Libby Story and picked up the jewelry that would be used in the photoshoot we were helping out with.  The photoshoot is to advertise for local wedding vendors in the area (so maybe you'll see me in a magazine!).  We knew we would be helping them out behind the scenes, but lucky for me, we got a call from Alli on Thursday night asking me to be a mock bridesmaid in the shoot on Friday.  It was so much fun!  So Alli and I got the jewelry and Christopher and Adam picked up some sandwich type food for lunch and dinner, and we followed them to Madison to an excessively huge house.  I mean, it was more than you could take in.  Mansion, gardener's house, miniature mansion, workshop, twenty-foot fountains, lake with swans, a CHAPEL (..??), and basically a seperate staff for everything you can think of.  Our day would be spent at the chapel. :)  It was so much fun getting my hair and makeup professionally done and getting to dress up in a bright yellow dress with fun shoes and bright pink lipstick.  It may not sound like me, but I will say I definitely enjoyed it.  It was just such a great day getting to hang out with Adam and Alli and the other bridesmaids and groomsmen, and of course, my Christopher.  The best part about it though was getting to see my friend Molly there.

Molly and I worked together at Lake Forest a couple years ago and she has inspired me ever since.  Even though I haven't seen her since then, I think about her on occasion.  I have never met someone who knows the Word like she does.  She quotes it all the time and can tell you exactly what it says and where it's found.  She has an amazing heart.  I'm so glad we got to reunite Friday! :) This time we decided to be intentional with our friendship.  She lives in Jackson and has been married for a couple of years, so I am even more eager to get married so that we can hang out, encourage each other and live in the same town!  She's such a beautiful person.

So --- the photoshoot lasted till dinner time and afterwards, Christopher and I went to Adam and Alli's house to get the photobooth for a wedding we were planning to work the next day in Oxford.  We ended up staying up with them till about 11 talking about all sorts of fun things :)  It was awesome and just what we had been hoping for, to get to know them better.

Saturday we woke up early and met the sweet couple back at their house to help them set up for Alli's brother's proposal that was to happen that afternoon.  We spent the morning at the Reservoir eating donuts, drinking coffee, and decorating the perfect little scene for an engagement to happen.  :) It was a lot of fun and awesome to help with!  Pictures are on their blog :)

After the proposal, we rushed home to get ready for the wedding, then off to Oxford we went!  The wedding was so much fun and the photobooth was awesome!  Although tired, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the time we had :)

Anyhow, it was an eventful weekend to say the least! :) We had such a great and blessed time!  Now, the sleep must settle in - I have been tired to the point of achy-ness yesterday and today.  Catch-up time is now.

Pre-marital Counseling

We went to marriage counseling today!!  It. Was. AWESOME.

The first thing and the thing he repeated the most was to grow with the Lord individually.  He said if we can do this, our marriage will be golden :)
He also said that there are roles for both the husband and wife.  The wife's role is to honor and respect her husband.  The husband's role is to love his wife.  If we stick to these roles and grow with the Lord individually, we will be strong.  And nothing is stronger than a marriage in agreement.  He said a marriage in agreement is the closest thing to heaven on earth.   He said, the degree of the success of your marriage is the degree to which you grow individually in Jesus.

We talked about Adam and Eve and how she was made from his rib.  We talked about the significance of God taking a bone that protects all his vital organs, and that the ribs break before the organs are touched.  We also talked about how the rib was taken from under his arm on his side and how that represents nurturing and protection from the man to the woman.  And also that she was taken from a place next to his heart - that it wasn't from his foot so that he may walk on her or from his head so that she may rule over him.

We also went through Ephesians 5:22-33 in some depth :) which was wonderful and was revealed in a whole new light.

And we talked about Philippians 2 and Colossians 4:12 - that it is really great to continually pray throughout our marriage that the Lord will work in us, both to will and to work for his good pleasure, and also to pray that we will be perfect and complete in the will of God.

There was so much depth to everything we talked about, but I don't want to spoil it for those of you who haven't gone through it yet.  I wish everyone could go to our pastor for counseling :) He hit it right on.  Everything was from the word.  It was such a sweet meeting.  I can't wait to go tomorrow :)

I have also begun reading my dream book.  It is amazing
Jim keeps repeating that the enemy is only threatened by what challenges him.  He says that dreams are a great way for the Lord to speak, because for many of us it is the only time during the day that we are quiet and still enough to hear his voice.  There are three types of dreams - the normal dreams, prophetic dreams, and demonic dreams.  He references the book of Joel a few times, saying that "I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind" - meaning that everyone dreams and he speaks to everyone through dreams (unbelievers and believers); it is simply on our part to pay attention.  He says many people recognize the dreams in their heart or remember them when they wake up, but they don't give attention to them because they believe they are only a part of our normal brain activity (which they are, but not "only" a part of it) or they believe that they are too mystical and far fetched for the Father to work in.  It is important though to be able to be discerning with dreams and know which ones are significant and which ones aren't, then interpret them correctly.
Anyway, it's a great book so far :)

Yours Truly,

P.S. - Both this book and our pastor mentioned that, in Christ, we are prophets, priests, and kings.  In Christ, we are priests who petition and prophets who receive.  Just a really great note.

Dream Language

So maybe it's backwards because I took it on photobooth, but I am SO EXCITED about this book!  Christopher and I went in Barnes and Noble today to look for a gift for someone and in the midst of the "Christian Section" I spotted this gem.  If you know me or have kept up with my blog over the past year, you probably know that I am a dreamer.  I have been my whole life - but only a prophetic dreamer since I started college (I believe).  So the Lord will give me crazy dreams sometimes that are obviously drenched in revelation and his heart.  Sometimes it is very clear what they mean, but other times, I cannot quite grasp the whole of it.  That is why this book is so exciting to me! :)  I have always wanted to be knowledgeable on the dream realm and often times wondered how I would learn about it.  Hopefully this book will be my answer, or at least my stepping stone to further knowledge and revelation.  It's called Dream Language by Jim Goll, and the depth that the table of contents and my thumbing through it goes to makes me ecstatic! :)

Comment Update

Dear Readers,

I get so discouraged all the time because I never have any comments on my blog, but I know that people are looking at it because my pageviews are always increasing.  So today, my dear roommate informed me today that every time she tries to comment, it won't allow her to.  I had changed my blog to private because I kept getting really inappropriate spam, I suppose when I did this it changed my comment settings too.  So I just changed my comment setting so that anyone is allowed to comment.  If you are one of those that has tried and failed, please try some more! ;) I love getting comments and truly want to be more active on my blog, I just get discouraged.  I just want you guys to know (those who read my blog) that you are truly amazing, and I so appreciate you taking the time to read about my life and thoughts.

Erin :)

But it will be fun, right?  Right.  I only have one more midterm then I'm home free!
Thinking about this spring break though has really been reminding me of the past two spring breaks I've had.  They were totally amazing and worth the space in my mind to remember.

Also this week, although very busy with midterms, Daisy has been visiting.  She was here this weekend when Christopher came, and her and I slumber partied all weekend.  But after they left, I was terribly sad, but fortunately found a present tied to my doorstep.  Yes, the very own Miss Daisy Collins.  Attached to her was a very cute paw-written note explaining herself.  She has been awesome this week and such great company.  My roommates and I are going to be sad to see her go.

About a false end times.
Last night I dreamed that I had to leave college during this last semester to go to my high school and finish my last course there.  Apparently everyone had to go back to finish at their high school.  I entered the building.  My high school is described as a prison by basically every student who has ever gone there.  There is literally only one way in.  So I entered the front door and walked past all the parents and faculty that were at the front office.  Usually you can’t go any further than the office without telling someone what you are doing and where you are going – whether they know you or not.  So it was odd that no one stopped me.  But I kept going – turned left down the hallway and went up the stairs to the second floor.  I went down another hallway, and turned into a classroom.  It was FILLED with students – all at long tables.  They were in an etiquette class and all very robotic-seeming – like they were being controlled.  I approached the teacher and she asked me what class I needed to take.  I had no idea – I didn’t even know why I was there.  I told her I didn’t know and she persisted to ask me what class I needed to take.  I asked her what the options were and she said an etiquette class.  I told her I had never taken an etiquette class so she concluded that I needed to enroll in it.  I then went to the back of the classroom and saw one of my best friends from high school, Jonathan, sitting on the floor.  There was someone else with him who was my friend also, but I can’t exactly remember who.  Jonathan and I started talking about how weird this was and began to catch up a little.  Eventually, everyone got up and started exiting the building, rather quickly.  At that time, Jonathan kissed me on the cheek seven times.  It wasn’t weird at all because it was very brotherly and comforting.  I told him to stop though since I didn’t want anyone to think that it was anything other than what it was - because I’m engaged.  At that time, I saw a girl that I had been watching a little and I asked Jonathan what her name was.  He said Savannah – her last name started with an S but I cannot remember what it was now.  She had blonde hair.  We then got up and began walking out with everyone else.  I was very confused though because some people were walking in, but most were walking out.  Jonathan was not with me from this point forward.  I made it outside and there was a huge mass of people.  People everywhere.  We were all standing in a big field and there was a horizon ahead.  I kept hearing people say, “This is the last hour”,  “This is the last hour”.  No one knew what was going on, but there were new people around.  I knew they either came down from heaven or up from hell, but I could not tell which.  It was hard to distinguish those people from the ones that were already on earth.  I finally escaped from the crowd to follow Savannah behind some curtains into a room.  I had seen her several times and felt like I was to stay close to her.  There were only a few people in the room.  Savannah, some guy, me, Christopher’s father, and a baby.  Mr. Michael was holding the baby and crying.  I went to him and hugged them both.  He told me that he loved me so much and I told him the same.  He kept weeping.  At this time, we exited the room back through the curtain.  There was a man standing outside that I used to know.  In real life, he killed himself a few months ago – Christian man, many problems, shot himself.  So I knew at this point that I had to figure out if he was from heaven or hell.  I’ve always wondered if people who commit suicide go to heaven or hell.  So I approached him.  I couldn’t tell at first, but as I got closer I could see darkness in his eyes and his skin was very unhealthy.  He gave me a hug and acted like everything was normal.  I whispered in his ear, “Are you good or bad?”.  He responded with “bad”.  So at that point it was very clear that all of these new people had come up from hell, but were so disguised that no one knew the difference.  He kept telling me, “This is the last hour”.  At his point I knew it was a false end-times.  I knew this was a scheme of the enemy.  However, I also knew, that because this wasn’t truly the last hour, that we were all supposed to be patient through it because Jesus was coming soon.  This is exactly the character of the devil – to manipulate people into his ways so they betray Jesus.  So later I followed Savannah over to a swing set and began to swing to pass the time.  There were a lot of young girls on the swing set with me.  I was then in a minivan at the swing set with a group of women that were plotting to run away and hope they didn’t get caught.  I didn’t want to participate because I knew Jesus was coming.  So when they drove off, I jumped out.  I watched as the man who committed suicide recently marched toward the van to stop it.  I’ve forgotten many of the details of this dream, but I feel like the important parts stuck with me.  I then remember joining the huge crowd again and over the horizon we saw a HUGE cloud that filled the entire horizon and was many deep colors – deep red, purple, blue.  It was coming quickly to us and I remember having the fear of the Lord all over me.  All we could do was get down on the ground and wait for it to pass, so I curled up in a ball on the ground the first time.  It was the strongest wind and very colorful but deep.  It passed after a little while and became day again.  We then saw another one welling up in the sky.  This time I got in the same position, but the whole time it passed I yelled at the top of my lungs, “JJJJEEEESSSSUUUUSSSSSSS!!!!!”  This happened many times and each time was a little different in the sky.  Sometimes it looked like an army of angels coming in the sky over us, fully armed.  Other times it was just clouds as I described before.  This is all I remembered from my dream last night.
It's a pretty straight forward dream.  Savannah means "treeless plain" or "plateau".  She represented the Lion, the Lord.  Jonathan was hope, comfort, and community.  The meaning of etiquette is "the rules and regulations that need to be followed in the particular environment" - representing control.
Feel free to leave comments on this.  Or questions.
