Spring!

It's been a good week.  Busy in the moment but restful overall - Is that possible?

I'm so very excited about this weekend.  I'm headed home tonight to see my darling love.

I'm hoping for some time in the field on Friday (meaning a literal field).
I grew up on a country road with basically every person in my extended family down the same street - we called it Webbville.  Anyway, my Grandmother neighbors the right side of the house I grew up in and on the other side of her, way back in the woods, is the house my Grandfather was born and raised in.  It's the most beautiful sight - left just like someone went to get groceries and never came back.  The bad news is, it's been forbidden to enter onto the property for several years.  See, some long lost cousin inherited the property and he happens to be one of the most greedy people I've heard about in life.  When Uncle T died and this cousin inherited the property, he immediately put it up for sale - for. one. million. dollars.  It's not worth that to anyone.  So needless to say, it's been sitting on that beautiful property for probably about ten years with no one to love and cherish it.  My sister and I visit it on occasion, but my dad doesn't like us to trespass since that cousin would call the cops if he found out.  It's really quite disappointing that such a dearly loved historic home has gone to waste.  Anyhow, the point of this story is to say that I need to go.  I'm hoping on Friday, Christopher and I will have time to go out there and trek through the woods to find it.  I want to take our engagement pictures out there if we're able.  Christopher has never seen it - what a joy it will be when he does. :)  But also probably depressing since we won't be able to live in it when we get married and for the rest of our lives.

Anyhow, I'll try to post pictures if we get to go! :)

Saturday, my dear friend Kelly is throwing Christopher and me a shower. :)  We are so excited!  It feels like a really big joint birthday party.  It also feels like it's going to be a giant family reunion considering many of my friends from high school, college, and my family will be there.  I'll let you know how that goes too :)

Also, I finished addressing the envelops last night!  Invitations should be coming soon :)

Yay for the weekend!

  1. I hope your weekend was as you hoped it would be...seeing the house and celebrating with friends. What an exciting time for you! I look forward to seeing pictures of the old house, if you were able to get them.
